Dutch protest against Islam film

Anti-Wilders%20demo.jpgAt least 1,000 people have taken part in a demonstration in Amsterdam against the planned release of a film expected to be highly critical of Islam. Protesters objected to the planned internet release of the film by Dutch right-wing politician Geert Wilders. Mr Wilders says the 15-minute film deals with Islamic ideology which he describes as “the enemy of freedom”.

Some protesters in central Amsterdam carried signs that said “Stop the witch hunt against Muslims”. “We can no longer remain silent. There is a climate of hate and fear in the Netherlands,” said Rene Danen, a spokesman from anti-racism organisation Nederland Bekent Kleur (The Netherlands Shows its Colours), which organised the protest.

The point here is just because the protestors disagree with the film does that mean that others should not be able to view it?

The obvious answer is no.

“Mr Wilders says the 15-minute film deals with Islamic ideology which he describes as “the enemy of freedom”. ”

This is what the protestors against the film are objecting to. So why don’t they spend their time trying to make arguments as to why the film’s view that Islamic ideology is the enemy of freedom is wrong instead of spending their time trying to get the film banned?

More guilt by “association” from Islamophobia Watch

‘Talking of appeasing Islam…’

Another plug from the fascists for the National Secular Society’s favourite “comedian”, Pat Condell.

BNP news article, 10 March 2008

Again Islamophobia Watch push the bollox that because someone is quoted or agreed with by the BNP that person must be in league with them.

The National Secular Society doesn’t like any religion yet Islamophobia Watch portray them as only not liking Islam and being against Muslims and in league with racist and fascists.

The BNP will grab hold of anything which isn’t pro-Islam because it suits their agenda.

The Islamophobiawatchers argue that we should always be pro-Islam because to criticise or disagree with it is being on the side of the BNP and other racists and fascists.

So because the NSS criticise and disagree with Islam the Islamophobiawatchers say they are on the side of the BNP.

That’s a bit like saying if you criticise the Catholic Church’s position on homosexuality you must be gay.

It’s all smearing and general bollox which makes Islamophobia Watch and their friends look like utter twerps!

In defence of the paintball terrorists

Paintballs of terror

Inayat Bunglawala questions the conviction of the so-called paintball “terrorists”.Comment is Free, 29 February 2008

Bunglawala comes out with the usual “some people might be saying violent and horrible things but that doesn’t mean they are actually going to do anything violent”.

Possibly true.

But would he and the Islamophobiawatchers say the same about someone like Nick Griffin?

Whether these guys were attending terrorist training and or intending to carry out any kind of terrorist attack is unknown to the public at large and is up for debate.

But even if they were the Islamophobiawatchers would just put on their moral relativists hats and brush it aside as these men “voicing their anger” towards the Iraq war and British/Western foriegn policy.

In fact some journalist who documented the activisties of one of these men was on Channel 4 news last week and suggested that he was being penalised for mearly “speeking out” against the foriegn policies of the British government.

Reckon if Islamophoiba Watch and their chums saw that they would be nodding in agreement.
